Shoot The Stars
At The Film School, students are writing, shooting and editing films with A-list film talent and leading television stars as part of an initiative called Shoot the Stars! Produced on the Garson Studios soundstages using Hollywood production protocols, Shoot the Stars! immerses students in fully professional pre-production, production and post-production workflow that goes well beyond the typical student film experiences offered in most film and media departments nationally. Additionally, renowned industry mentors work hand-in-hand with experienced film faculty in guiding students through the production cycle.
In November 2013, stars
(The Mob Doctor, Trespass, Dexter) and
(Se7en, Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) will join students as they produce two new student-written and student-directed projects: Mister Stapleton and
Written by Baxter Smith, Directed by Joshua James, Produced by Baxter Smith and Bonnie Burchfield
Written by Zoe Dahmen, Directed by Seth Fuller, Produced by Emmett Meade and Patrick Titus
The first Shoot the Stars! productions took place in December 2012, with Luke Kirby (Take This Waltz, Sundance Channel’s Rectify), and Wes Studi (Avatar, Heat, Last of the Mohicans) toplining the student-written and student-directed projects: The Boston Post, written by Andrew Rodes and directed by Katelyn Peer; and Max Dangerous, written by Zach Moore and directed by Brett Shapiro.
