The Performing Arts Department invites talented students aged 15+ who are passionate about improving their theatrical skills to participate in its summer 2012 Musical Theatre Intensive. Running a full eight days to allow for extensive training, the Intensive offers an in-depth program in musical theatre performance skills.

A concurrent program (July 31 - August 6) providing professional development for high school drama and music teachers is also offered.

The 2012 Santa Fe Theatre Intensive will be held on the Santa Fe University of Art and Design campus in culturally diverse and visually stunning Santa Fe, New Mexico. Field trips designed to allow students to experience the area's rich artistic offerings will supplement the programs' challenging instruction.

To ensure the 2012 Santa Fe Theatre Intensive attracts high caliber participants preparing for a theatrical future, the Performing Arts Department is partnering with US Performing Arts Camps, an organization long dedicated to providing summer programs for passionate and talented students.

Musical Theatre Performance Skills: July 29 - August 6

This 8-day training in musical theatre performance skills will include:

  • an audition preparation curriculum

Classes will show students how to select and prepare audition material – both songs and monologues. Teachers will also attend seminars where they will have the opportunity to teach – and be taught – music theatre performance audition skills. (View the daily class schedule.)
