A faculty of practicing artists helps prepare students for careers as performers, composers, producers, recording engineers, arts advocates, and more.
Twenty-first-century musicians are poised to embrace the most important technological, intellectual, and social advances of our time, while honoring important musical traditions of the past.
Today's music, our contemporary music, comes from all over the globe, uses all kinds of acoustic and electronic instruments, encompasses numerous traditions, and flourishes in hundreds of exciting styles and genres. This is the world of the Contemporary Music Program (CMP). Our faculty of practicing artists helps prepare students for careers as performers, composers and songwriters, producers, recording engineers and sound designers, musical entrepreneurs and business persons, teachers, community organizers, and arts advocates.
