Media Design School was founded in 1998 and is highly regarded across New Zealand and the world for its specialized, cutting-edge courses in digital design including: 3D animation graphic design, game programming or creative advertising. The school is an early adopter of technical advances and was one of the first schools in Asia Pacific to offer formal high-level qualifications in emerging technical, digital content and creative fields. It has numerous connections with major design and production studios, advertising agencies, post production facilities and print design companies in New Zealand. Experts from these companies often visit the school to provide mentoring, live projects, workshops, curriculum advice and external assessment.
This study abroad program is open to students who successfully complete three years of study and meet all eligibility requirements at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. During their fourth year, students will attend Media Design School where they will develop individualized programs of study through the school’s Creative Technology Department and be given the opportunity to work with top industry professionals. This program is ideal for committed students who want to enhance their education combining the interdisciplinary degree programs offered at Santa Fe University of Art and Design with the digital design technical and applied studies at Media Design School. Eligibility:
This study abroad degree program is open to students who successfully complete their initial 3 years of study at Santa Fe University of Art and Design and meet all eligibility requirements.
- Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at Santa Fe University.
- Students must have no pending disciplinary action at Santa Fe University.
- Students must have successfully completed their initial three years of study at Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
- During the spring semester of the 3rd year, students will be required to complete the online Media Design School admission exam, submit a portfolio, and have Santa Fe University send MDS an official transcript. After completing these steps, students will then receive notification from MDS regarding their acceptance into the program. Please note: acceptance into Santa Fe University’s BA program, does not guarantee admission into MDS.
Cost:
Tuition for the study abroad program will be the same as Santa Fe University of Art and Design’s undergraduate tuition Transportation costs to and from Auckland up to $2000 are included. Course fees, housing and food will vary based on local pricing.
