If we take a moment to look around, we can see the influence of graphic design everywhere—from books and magazines to interactive media and 3D animation, from subversive street art to global brand identity and international business, from advertising to the celebration of altruistic endeavors, and from traditional storytelling to inventive problem-solving. Today’s graphic designers are in an unparalleled position to shape our daily life and the world around us.
Our program examines the dual nature of graphic design: as a vehicle for artistic expression and as a specialized profession. Students are introduced to timeless philosophies and contemporary theory while mastering the latest tools, techniques, and mediums. Classes present the opportunity for students to work on a variety of real-world and experimental projects while exploring collaborative processes and the fine art of client satisfaction. A sense of curiosity underlies all that we do. At Santa Fe University of Art and Design, students are encouraged to find their own creative path and explore unique visual connections by learning how to see before they look.
